About The Rainbow Trail

We are a group of students from the University of Birmingham, who are putting together The Rainbow Trail; a trail of objects exploring the lives and communities of LGBTQIA+ people (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual and other marginalised identities). It will be available to the public throughout February 2017, celebrating of ‘LGBT History Month’, an event which has been celebrated in the UK since 2005.

This blog is our way of recording the creations of the Rainbow Trail, and to express our views about the difficulty in researching LGBTQIA+ history. It is also our way to catalogue the objects we are using, and to cover other topics which don’t fit into the trail, but we think are particularly important.
